A bit more detail on the merchandise assortment at the new RACK - both kid’s and Plus size clothing will be carried. However, Petites will not (booo!)
And they will be holding their now famous ‘Race Through the Rack’ sweepstakes on opening day. This is where one lucky person is chosen at 8:45 am to be the first customer to enter the store with 90 seconds to select up to $2,000 worth of merchandise.
In case you didn’t know, NORDSTROM RACK is opening on Thursday, March 31 at the Carolina Pavillon. (That’s the big center at I-485 and South Blvd, the one with Target, Kohl’s, Babies R Us). The 43,000 square foot store is the second RACK and the second Nordstrom to open in the state, after those in Durham. For those of you into the state-wide competition, ours is bigger, so there.
Basically, Nordstrom Rack carries merchandise from Nordstrom stores & Nordstrom.com at 50-60% off original Nordstrom prices. Along with a selection of brand-name apparel, accessories & shoes purchased specially for Nordstrom Rack, mostly at savings of 30-70% off MSRP. Nordstrom Racks also offer petite and plus sizes in selected stores, and we’re checking in with their corporate office on our Charlotte Nordstrom Rack assortment.
You can click this link to check out the types of designer brands NORDSTROM RACK carries. And apparently, when you’re in the store and see ‘Brands Too Hot to Mention’ signs, you should check the merch out. While they cannot always promote the brands for sale in print, and this is how they tell you not to be missed.
The store is planning some bells & whistles for opening day, but mostly, they’ll be trying to provide good service and a good experience to what we all know will be crowds of customers.
